WRITE UP ON NANAIMO JUDO TOURNAMENT APRIL 11,2015

We had 6 members  ( 5 Juniors and 1 senior) who participated in the Nanaimo tournament.
Romain, Ichiro and I were the Instructors who coached; parents who came along for the trip were, Allegro ( Hailey and Jenna’s Dad), Wilson’s Dad and Brother.
Our driver was Harry Atkinson whom we rented the Van.

Everyone came home with metals.
We had 1 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze.
Sofie Kunii got the gold
Jenna Ko and Wilson Pham received the silver
Hailey Ko, Nicolas Johnston and Djuro Miladinovic received the bronze

It was a small tournament in number of participants (about 125 contestants), mainly from Nanaimo, Victoria and Campbell River.
We were the only club to represent the Lower Mainland.

This was a regional Vancouver island tournament and the main reason why I wanted our members to participate was a chance for everyone, parents included, to get to know each other better.
The children seemed to have a great time on the ferry playing and exploring the ship; others enjoyed the food on the ferry or being on the boat.
So the experience of everyone being together for the whole day as an outing was a wonderful experience.

Keep the date for this tournament open for next year.
